Four papers, co-authored by members of GrUVi lab, will be presented at SIGGRAPH Asia 2015. "Deformation-Driven Topology-Varying Shape Correspondence", "Decompose-and-Pack for 3D Printing", "Generalized Cylinder Decomposition", and "Garment Modelling with a Depth Camera" will be presented in Kobe, Japan in November. Congratulations to Ibraheem, Richard, Ping and Kangxue!
A Sampler of Useful Computational Tools for Applied Geometry, Computer Graphics, and Image Processing, a book edited by Daniel Cohen-Or, Chen Greif, Tao Ju, Niloy Jyoti Mitra, Ariel Shami, Olga Sorkine-Hornung, and our own Richard Zhang, will be released by A K Peters/CRC Press on May 20th, 2015. Follow the jump to read the abstract, and check out more information about the book here.
Our paper on mean curvature skeletons is accepted to SGP 2012. The paper, titled "Mean Curvature Skeletons", describes a skeleton extraction approch via mean curvature flow. This method effienctly produce smoother and more medial curve skeletons than the prior state-of-the-art contraction method. The paper and source code are available from the project page.
